this weekend was our first attempt at raw ice cream..here's what we did:
i tried a recipe from my favorite new recipe site : goneraw.com
it was for Cinnamon Bun Raw Ice Cream...i love cinnamon so any dessert with cinnamon i love to try...
Here are all the ingredients in the food processor: unsweetened vanilla almond milk, vanilla extract, honey, coconut, and coconut oil
Here are all the ingredients processed into a "vanilla ice cream" base...
This is my "cinnamon swirl" mixture made with pure maple syrup, sea salt and cinnamon
Next, we swirled the cinnamon mixture into the vanilla ice cream mixture
..and here was the result! we froze it overnight and into the next day and finally tried in sunday night.
...the result? well...its was ok, need to figure out how to make the texture a bit creamier, but other than that, not too bad. the recipe called for 2/3 cup agave and we skipped that altogether and just added a bit more honey, so it wasn't too sweet, but that didn't take away from it.
